Working with the students at Monumenti Aperti

The Port of Cagliari is one of the major ports in Italy and one of the largest sea ports in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located in the South Coast of Sardinia and it is the third largest port in Italy.

In 2016 it handled more than 40 million tons of cargo TEU’s.

The territorial district managed by the Cagliari’s port authority extend for approximately 30 kilometres of coastline, its structure is divided into two areas: the historic port and the modern “Porto Canale”.

Preparatory phase ‘Monumenti aperti May 2019’ Cagliari

Monumenti aperti is an important event which takes place every year since 1997. Thousands volunteer citizens show monuments,museums, schools, townhall, etc. To the public. They act as tourist guide for two days. The Nautical school ‘Buccari’ and its  students and teachers plan the visit for this  event.

A night out in Cagliari

A saturday night out in Cagliari? 

What about an amazing gig by Diaframma? At first I felt really tired but Mr Fiumani was able to attract me to the stage until the very last moment!

As I mentioned them I should briefly explain what I’m really talking about: I am speaking about one the most influential post punk italian bands of the early 80’s, based in  Florence, considered the center of new wave music of that time.

During the concert I couldn’t help but thinking about that times in which I used to listen to them , as I was still young but no longer a teenager: my “splendid twenties”.

Sipping at my Coke Zero (as a statement: “No Alcohol for me, lately, thank you!”) I softly leant onto the nearby cornerstone. The atmosphere was dark as the walls surrounding us : in fact also the walls of this “not so big” club in Cagliari ,“Fabrik” had  been painted in a pitch black tone.

Suddenly I thought to myself “It’s way too hot in here. I need some fresh air!” that’s what I softly whispered to my boyfriend and our old punk friend before I headed to the door.

As soon as I opened the door my favourite song the singer announced my favourite song of all times “Diamante Grezzo” but I still was up for some air and went out through the door as a cold airflow ruffled my hair and my mind was suddenly invaded by thousands of thoughts and faces of another life, my past life.

I could hear my own raspy voice speaking to a girl outside: “Anche tu a prendere aria?” ( so I’m not the only one in need for fresh air). Her dreamy eyes set on a black baby carriage in front of her.

“L’ha presa bene. Tutto questo frastuono. Ormai si sta abituando”( She is behaving well , maybe she is getting accustomed to all that noise). I didn’t answer, just smiled as I noticed that the little girl reminded me of Mr Fiumani himself. A tiny little face surrounded by pink fabric sleeping peacefully. Maybe she will become the “Diamante Grezzo” that he was still singing as the wind kept howling and ruffling our hair as the night became harder to bear.

¡Qué mejor excusa para visitar la ciudad de vacaciones, disfrutando de todos esos lugares originales y típicos, donde una copa de buen vino acompaña un taco de embutidos y quesos de alta calidad!  Aquí hemos seleccionado los mejores. ¡Que aproveche!

Sabores y Sapori di Sardegna son dos locales  que venden productos (alimenticios) sardos desde hace más de 50 años.

• Sapori di Sardegna es una cantina donde se pueden comprar productos de la tradición vinícola y gastronómica sarda fruto del trabajo de pequeños artesanos: una amplia variedad de quesos y embutidos todos de animales criados en estado salvaje, donde el ordeño todavía se realiza a mano y la carne y los productos lácteos tienen un sabor inconfundible.

• Sabores, en cambio, es una pequeña taberna en el corazón de la ciudad donde se puede tomar un aperitivo típico sardo. Quien recibe a los clientes al entrar en este local acogedor situado en las estrechas callejuelas del barrio Marina es Samuele, experto charcutero gourmet que con su simpatía y creatividad cada día propone degustaciones de diferentes especialidades.

Ya desde la entrada del local se oye buena música de fondo y una vez sentados en las mesitas en forma de tonel de vino, se pueden disfrutar unas óptimas cervezas artesanales, vinos de las más célebres bodegas de toda la región y embutidos de la mejor calidad.

Entre las diferentes especialidades se pueden degustar: quesos de leche cruda de Orgosolo, pane carasau cocido en horno de leña (también sin gluten), embutidos de cerdos de raza sarda auténtica de un tal Roberto Pusole de Baunei, los vinos Cannonau de Peppino Musina (empresa agrícola Orgosa) y las cervezas de la cervecería agrícola Marduk. Además, el local ofrece una cerveza creada precisamente para sus clientes, llamada Sabores, una American Lager lupulada, ligera y refrescante, perfecta para acompañar los tacos de embutidos. Gracias a estos productos típicos, los pequeños artesanos y productores nos cuentan el territorio de Cerdeña y sus antiguas tradiciones.

A pesar de que este negocio nos haga saborear las tradiciones ancestrales, sin embargo es muy activo e innovador; de hecho en su página de internet se pueden consultar y comprar algunos de los productos disponibles en las tiendas.
