The Port of Cagliari is one of the major ports in Italy and one of the largest sea ports in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located in the South Coast of Sardinia and it is the third largest port in Italy.
In 2016 it handled more than 40 million tons of cargo TEU’s.
The territorial district managed by the Cagliari’s port authority extend for approximately 30 kilometres of coastline, its structure is divided into two areas: the historic port and the modern “Porto Canale”.
Monumenti aperti is an important event which takes place every year since 1997. Thousands volunteer citizens show monuments,museums, schools, townhall, etc. To the public. They act as tourist guide for two days. The Nautical school ‘Buccari’ and its students and teachers plan the visit for this event.
